Julie Wainwright is the former CEO of the now-defunct Pets.com and current CEO of SmartNow, a wellness website aimed at women over 35. Wainwright was named "one of the 50 Most Influential Business women in the Bay Area by San Francisco Business Times, and was one of Microtimes' Top 100 Technology Executives for 1997".

My newly recorded "Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright (all rights to him and his producers and whoever else has claim over this song). Through a few hours of recording we managed to get this in ONE TAKE, no editing or cutting on my voice (a bit of cutting with piano). We put a little bit of reverb in it but nothing has been added to my original voice. Enjoy! |

If you liked the Josh Krajcik 's performance on X Factor you might like this version, very different from Lee on the American Idol performance- I heard Julie singing in the Bart (Bart is the subway system in San Francisco, not Homer's son) and asked her permission to make a video of her on this wonderful flipvideo camera, yes the one that Oprah raves about, ... and, well, I'm really glad Julie allowed me to video tape this because I think she's one of those rare talents who is incredibly great, and very humble at the same time. Well, now she has given me permission to post this on my youtube page. If she makes her own in the near future we will transfer it to her page of course, and stay tuned as her upcoming myspace URL will be here for anyone who is interested. This is Julie's version of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and also kept famous by Irish singer Rufus Wainwright. Also thanks to www.myspace.com for loaning her flip video camera to Steven Cravis for the filming of this wonderful performance by Julie. "Hallelujah" is a song written by Leonard Cohen. It was first recorded on his 1984 album Various Positions. It has been covered numerous times and featured in the soundtracks of several movies and television shows. |

Martha Wainwright performs Lowlands Away at the Barbican Hall in London on 28 July 2008. Martha was taking part in a live performance of Hal Willner's Rogue's Gallery - Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys. The song Lowlands Away was included on the 2006 released CD of Rogue's Gallery and was originally recorded by Martha's brother, Rufus Wainwright, and mother, Kate McGarrigle. The concert also included performances from Martin Carthy, Eliza Carthy, Julie Fowlis, Gavin Friday, Baby Gramps, Neil Hannon, Ed Harcourt, Robyn Hitchcock, Shane MacGowan, Tim Robbins, David Thomas, Suzanne Vega and Norma Waterson. |
