Teen fatally shot while trying to rob off-duty cop (Clown 1, Teen 0)

An off-duty Chicago police officer dressed up as a clown for a South Side fundraiser shot and killed a teen who held him at gunpoint tonight after the event, authorities said, citing preliminary information. The officer, who is assigned to the Near North police district, was in his clown outfit for a fundraiser for a day-care business, attended by about 50 children near West 87th Street and South Damen Avenue.

Police: Confused men try to rob Md. funeral home

PRINCE FREDERICK, Md.—Calvert County authorities are searching for two men who tried to rob a funeral home that they may have mistaken for a bank. Police said the men robbed Lee Funeral Home, next to a PNC Bank, in Owings on Monday. Lt. Steve Jones of the Calvert Investigative Team said an employee told the suspects they weren't in a bank.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Bank of America, Verizon, Chipotle and other companies have pulled advertising from a Sacramento radio station after talk show hosts referred to transgender people as "freaks" with mental disorders. During a May 28 show, one of the three hosts on KRXQ's "Rob, Arnie & Dawn" show said he would hit his son with his shoe if he put on high heels. Strangled teen succumbs to injuries (Strangled for refusing to wear hijab)

MISSISSAUGA -- Asqa Parvez, the 16-year-old allegedly strangled by her father, has died of her injuries. A man telephoned Peel Regional Police at 7:55 a.m. yesterday claiming he had killed his daughter. When police arrived at the posh Longhorn Trail home, where about a dozen people spanning three generations live, Aqsa was barely alive. She was transported to Sick Kids hospital, where she later died. Aqsa's father, Muhammad Parvez, 57, a driver with Blue and White Taxi, was taken into custody and appeared in Brampton court this morning.

Bored naked man tries to rob Pa. store

CARBONDALE, Pa. - Authorities said a man wearing nothing but a hat tried to rob a convenience store in Carbondale. Police say the 24-year-old man charged in last month's robbery attempt often stands naked in front of the window of his apartment. He was first arrested on an accusation of exposing himself to two women at his apartment building. Carbondale Police Sgt.
